Mission and Assignment
The Planning Commission was established retroactive to May 1996. It is the city planning agency as authorized by M.S. 462.354, subd. 1, as it may be amended from time to time. The Planning Commission is general advisory to the City Council It shall have the powers and duties given to city planning agencies by law, including the authority to conduct public hearings as directed by City Council or city policy. The Planning Commission shall also exercise the duties conferred upon it by City ordinance No. 324.
Regular Meeting Schedule
The Clara City Planning Commission meets on the 1st Wednesday of each month beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the City Hall of Clara City.

Street Excavation Permit
This type of permit is needed whenever utility work that requires the city street to be disturbed is being done for a resident by an outside contractor. The permit requires the signature of the resident, contractor and Public Works Director. There is no charge for the permit so long as a signed copy is returned to City Hall within 72 of digging. After that there is a $200 fine.
