Basic Structure
Clara City, population 1,360, is a fourth class statutory city that operates under the Plan A form of government and has as a weak-mayor council administrative pattern of governance.
The City Council is comprised of a Mayor and four City Councilors, all of whom are voting members. The City Council is supported in its work via two key committees--the Planning Commission and the Economic Development Authority (EDA).
The City Council has regular monthly meetings on the second Tuesday of each month beginning at 6:30 p.m. It may also meet in special and/or emergency situations. Postings of all such meetings are available at City Hall. The meetings are normally held in the Council Chambers located at the City Hall.
